This is What God Does

YWAM (Youth With A Mission) is made up completely of volunteers. Everyone from its founder, Loren Cunningham, to myself are required to raise their own support. Over the past few months I’ve really been challenged in the whole area of finances. I knew in my head that God could provide for my needs but I never really believed it in my heart. So I decided I needed to build up my faith a little. I picked up a copy of ‘Daring to Live on the Edge” by Loren Cunningham and began to read a stream of stories which displayed God’s faithfulness in the whole area of finances. I started to see a common theme amongst all the people who had a miraculous provision from God, they had faith and actions to back it up.

I was three quarters of the way through the book one night when I couldn’t take it any longer. I knew I just needed to get on my knees and pray that God would provide the finances needed to pay off my visa. I owed $1018 and needed to pay it within another week or else I would have to start paying interest on it. I called my friend Sara over and we started to pray. As we prayed I shared a few stories out of the book. Then I had this sudden urge in me that said I wouldn’t have to pay any interest on my visa. Then everything inside me said that I needed to speak out to Sara that I wouldn’t have to pay interest. But what if the money didn’t come in time? Then not only would I be disappointed, Sara would too. All I knew was that I needed to say it out loud. So I did then we continued to both pray.

Two days later I got a phone call from my Mom at 6:15 am. I could hear an excitement in her voice but wasn’t sure why. Then she continued to tell me that she just received a cheque from my church, Seraph, for $1003. I couldn’t believe it. It was absolutely incredible. I had never seen such a direct and miraculous answer to prayer in my life.

I’m so grateful to my church and I truly believe that they are willing servants of God. From the day I met them to now, they’ve always supported and cared for me. Thanks to everyone else who have supported me. I really do appreciate it.
